Biography:

Sophie Mathewson is a policy advisor at Wellcome (global health, previously vaccines and DRI). She joined the International Activities team at the Wellcome Trust in January 2014 where she led the Trust’s work on the DELTAS Africa scheme for research training programmes. Before Wellcome she was a Networking Officer at the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership and trainee in the Infectious Diseases Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate for Research & Innovation. Sophie has an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an undergraduate degree in Modern History and Modern Languages from the University of Oxford.
