Daniela received a Master Degree in Physics from the University of Perugia in 2001 and a Ph.D in Statistical Physics from the University of Camerino in 2005. After two years of scholarship with the ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energies and Sustainable Economic Development), she worked for one year at the Siena Novartis Vaccine Reaserch Center as bioinformatician.
Since 2008, she has been working as a researcher in the Computational Epidemiology and Public Health group led by Prof. Alessandro Vespignani at ISI Foundation in Turino. She has been the role of Research Leader in the group since 2012. She has coordinated the development, deployment and management of a network for web-based platforms for influenza surveillance in Europe called Influenzanet.
