Biomedical scientist, epidemiologist, collective health specialist, master degree in Public Health, PhD in Public Health and social entrepreneur. Onicio Leal is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Child Well-being & Development at the University of Zurich leading projects for the application of wearables and machine learning for child development. Founded the Center for Strategic Information for Health Surveillance in Recife, becoming a reference in Digital Disease Detection. He has worked in Epidemiological Intelligence Services in the municipal, state and federal governments, helping the preparedness for risk monitoring during the Confederations Cup 2013 and World Cup 2014. He was a consultant to the Pan American Health Organization and UNICEF, implementing digital disease detection in several projects. He is co-founder of Epitrack, where he has developed and led projects in Brazil, USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. He is one of the ambassadors of Singularity University in Brazil, leading Singularity U Recife Chapter.
