Connie St Louis

Connie St Louis is a senior lecturer and the director of the MA in Science Journalism at City University, London. She has published research on twitter and swine flu and is currently working on  She is also an award-winning broadcaster, science journalist, writer and scientist. She presents and produces a range of science and health programmes for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. She is a recipient of the prestigious Joseph Rowntree Journalist Fellowship. Her most recent programme on BBC Radio 4 ‘Ethnic Drugs the Magic Bullet”, in which she produced and presented, investigated the use of racially targeted designer drugs by pharmaceutical companies. She also presented the landmark Radio 4 series ‘Life as’ which charted the science of life before birth until death. She has written for numerous outlets including the Guardian and BBC Online.

Before joining the faculty at City University London she worked for the BBC for sixteen years and was recruited via the prestigious and highly competitive production trainee scheme. Her production highlights during that time include securing Bill Gates’ first British interview.
