Martine Ziefle is Professor for Communication Science at RWTH Aachen University, Germany and head of the eHealth Research group at the Human Technology Centre (HumTec). Her research addresses human factors in different technology types and using contexts, taking demands of user diversity into account. eHealth, particularly medical contexts, taking demands of user diversity into account. Her methodological competence regards the experimental and empirical evaluation of human�computer interaction. A special focus is directed to the usability and acceptance of mobile devices in the hospital context. Martina Ziefle earned the PhD at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. From 1998�2008, Martina worked as Associate Professor at the Universities of Munster and Aachen University. Since 2009 she has been a Full Professor and chair of Communication Science at RWTH.
Prof. Ziefle has an active publication record (more than 250 publications) and serves as an international specialist of Human�Computer Interaction in different contexts. She is director of the Human�Computer Interaction Center at RWTH and member of the ACM society (HCI group), IEEE Society (Social Implications of Technology�Group and Professional Technical communication group). In addition to teaching and directing research on campus, she leads various projects funded by industrial and public authorities, dealing with the interaction and communication of humans with technology.
