Biography:
Samuel V. Scarpino is a complex systems scientist investigating questions at the intersection of network science, human behavior, and disease. His work spans a range of topics, including: infectious disease modeling, non-linear forecasting, gene networks, and decision making under uncertainty. Sam is the Chief Data Scientist at Dharma.ai and is an Assistant Professor of Marine and Environmental Sciences and Physics and a core faculty member in the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University. He earned a Ph.D. in integrative biology from The University of Texas at Austin and was a Santa Fe Institute Omidyar Fellow. For more information see: scarpino.github.io
